If you’ve ever felt the frustration of unpredictable results in splint therapy, you’re not alone.  Join us for this eye-opening course as Dr. Jesek zeroes in on the dentist’s role in diagnosis and treatment of TMJ conditions as they relate to occlusion.

Delivered in 2- and 4-hour lecture or 2-day workshop formats, Dr. Jesek illuminates concepts and techniques regarding non-directive splint design, delivery, adjustment and clarification of the principles of occlusion and equilibration of the natural dentition and restorations. As an alumni of both Pankey and Dawson Institutes, a member of the Board of Directors of the American Equilibration Society, and drawing upon his 25 years’ experience with an in-house crown and bridge lab, Dr. Jesek is uniquely qualified to help you improve the diagnosis and treatment of occlusomuscle/TMJ disorders within your practice.

The 2-day seminar consists of a lecture portion and a hands-on portion. Participants should bring: two sets of trimmed models of his/her own teeth, preferably on a semi-adjustable articulator with facebow transfer and a centric relation bite record, and a mandibular stabilization appliance fabricated to fit his/her mouth. Upon request, participants can have an appliance fabricated for them by Jesek Seminars lab prior to the seminar. You will work with a participant partner to learn the intricacies of appliance delivery to refinement. Participants will learn delivery and adjustment protocols that will enhance the effectiveness of TMJ/bruxism appliances.

Since earning his dental degree from Loyola University Dental School in 1979, Dr. Jesek has maintained a private general practice in Decatur, Illinois. Unique to the Decatur area, his practice houses a crown and bridge laboratory with three technicians focusing on using CAD/CAM milling technology to produce metal-free inlays, crowns and bridges. Continuing his dental training at The Pankey Institute for Advanced Education beginning in 1986, Dr. Jesek has amassed more than 1900 hours of Continuing Education credits and is a current member of the L.D. Pankey Dental Foundation. He became a teaching assistant in their TMJ dissection course in 1997. He completed a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry in 1991, and a mastership in 2013.

His articles have been published in Dentistry Today, Dental Economics, the Pankeygram, and the American Equilibration Society’s Contact.
