Garry L. Bey, DDS

General dentists perform 85% of root canals in the US. Yet they receive minimal training in these procedures at dental school. Many would like to keep more practice production in-house. It’s important that the GP understand which procedures can be done in-house vs. sent to a specialist. There’s nothing worse than attempting a procedure, taking it to completion and not achieving the desired result.

Drawing on his extensive experience of over 30 years in clinical practice, Dr. Garry Bey teaches an evidence-based technique for performing root canals in one visit with greater success and more profit than a multi-visit procedure (for both infected and non-infected teeth). This procedure can be learned quickly and can be performed by most general dentists.

A recent survey showed that only 1 in 6 dentists treat non-vital cases in one appointment.

Dr. Garry Bey teaches a technique for performing root canals in one visit with greater success and more profit than a multi-visit procedure (for both infected and non-infected teeth). The advantages of one appointment endodontics are many, including less post-operative pain, fewer emergency visits and greater patient satisfaction. This procedure can be learned quickly and can be performed by most general dentists.

Drawing on his extensive experience of over 30 years in clinical practice, Dr. Bey outlines endodontic diagnosis, case selection, quick and effective anesthesia, the creation of a glide path, and the management of curved and calcified canals. Advanced nickel-titanium rotary instrumentation techniques and apical negative pressure irrigation will also be addressed. A discussion on 3D obturation will conclude the course. This exciting multimedia program offers solutions for treating straightforward and complex endodontic cases in one visit.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the protocol for single-visit treatment for both vital and non-vital teeth
  • Identify the advantages of using apical negative pressure irrigation
  • Understand the objectives of obturation
  • Take away game-changing solutions to increase endodontic efficiency

Suggested Format: Hands-On Workshop, Lecture, Keynote — Full or Half-Day
Suggested Audience: Dentist and Team Members

ENDODONTIC MASTERY SERIES WORKSHOP

Learn the breakthrough concepts and the skills necessary for confident, expert complex root canal therapy.

Garry L. Bey, DDS leads hands-on instruction using a maxillary first molar micro-CT plastic tooth replica, along with natural teeth, for the location, negotiation, and management of calcified and curved canals, to accurately locate the apical constriction, create a predictable glide path from orifice to apex, and demonstrate the advantages of achieving and maintaining apical patency.

These comprehensive, in-depth demonstrations will cover:

  • Piezoelectric ultrasonics
  • Instrumentation using a safe and efficient nickel-titanium adaptive motion technology.
  • Effective root canal disinfection using apical negative pressure irrigation protocols. Control the bacteria, and you control the case!
  • Obturation using the continuous wave of condensation technique with a cordless three dimensional obturation system.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn simplified, game-changing techniques to allow the general dentist to treat more complex cases with increased success
  • Master the root canal space from orifice to apex
  • Identify instrumentation and irrigation techniques that allow for effective root canal disinfection
  • Understand the benefits of 3-dimensional root canal obturation: obturation without the frustration
  • Observe obturation of the root canal system in 3-D to capture the natural anatomy with the continuous wave of condensation technique
  • State criteria that dictate when an infected tooth can be completed in one visit with greater success than a multiple visit procedure
  • Name criteria that dictate how and when to treat both vital and non-vital teeth in one visit
  • Achieve superior root canal disinfection leading to better clinical outcomes for patients

Suggested Format: Full or Half-Day Lecture, Hands-On Workshop
Suggested Audience: General Dentists, Endodontists, and Doctor/Assistant Teams

He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association and he is a Past President of the Rockland County Dental Society.

Much attention has been brought to the important link between the oral cavity and systemic health in recent years. One visit endodontic procedures promise increased health for the patient and the ability to retain a natural tooth in a healthy state. Listen and learn how these innovative procedures can also increase the health and longevity of the dental practice!
