Overwhelming patient’s FEELINGS with LOGIC is a recipe for Disaster!!!

Consider two dental practices with similar training, skills, marketing approaches and qualified staff yet one is struggling, and one is thriving. What makes the difference? Both practices require and share high intellectual intelligence, (IQ) that includes technical and clinical skills, but the one that understands the value of Emotional Intelligence, (EI) excels! Dr. Reid began his journey in 1980 working with a clinical psychologist. Early on, it was suggested that dentistry is largely, 90%, a behavioral science and 10% clinical science. The clinical side is the easy fun part. Learning to control emotions, understand others and building social skills and personal motivation that enables us to run our practices and lives is foreign, riskier yet essential and quite learnable.

This course will explore the behaviors of dentists with both high and low EI. Dentists are experts at overcoming patient’s emotions with logic and missing the singular element that’s keeping their practice from reaching its fullest potential. Without EI, no amount of intelligence or cognitive ability will push you to that level.

Don believes every dentist and team member has the resources within themselves to create success. The goal of this workshop is to help you discover and tap into the potential within yourselves. Dr. Reid’s stories and examples will spark your own creativity and ingenuity and warm your souls. The magic occurs after you get back to your practice and look at your world differently. “For nearly 40 years, we have worked to maintain ourselves as the premier cosmetic and restorative doctor/technician team utilizing the concepts of complete dentistry. Only a handful have attained the level of complete fulfillment in their practices and lives that I am aware of. Only one of those is willing to share all that he has learned openly and completely. I’ve been around some great teachers: Kois, Dawson, and others. None are as compelling as Dr. Don Reid. He is a born teacher. He’ll raise you up as he sees more within you than you see yourself. Thank you for being our/my great encourager!”
Steve Killian, CDT; Irvine, CA
